Assessment Methodology

Below are the ways that we are assessing the community this summer:

1. Conduct Primary Research with community members (residents), stakeholders and institutional representatives, and youth.

  • Community Conversations (Click here to find more information.)

  • Survey research, including integration of social media. (Click here to read about and participate in the survey!)

  • One-on-One Interviews (Click here to find more information.)

2. Conduct Secondary Research (concurrent with primary research).

  • Conduct data analysis of indicators related to education, safety, economic self-sufficiency and health.

  • Conduct literature reviews of underlying barriers related to education, safety, economic self-sufficiency and health.

After we have finished conducting primary research using the above assessment tools:

3. Analyze Findings & Prioritize Goals

  • Frame community level goals and compare to findings from 2015. (Click here to find out more about the 2015 assessment.)

  • Conduct reality check circles with community members to test conclusions and established community level goals.
